WES BROWN BELIEVES MANCHESTER UNITED ARE TITLE CONTENDERS

Former Manchester United defender Wes Brown has declared that he believes his former side are part of the teams that are going for the Premier League title this season. The former defender who won five trophies during his playing career as a Red Devil says there is currently no reason for the Old Trafford side to not compete credibly for the title this season.


Brown says though there are some issues that still need to be looked into and addressed at Old Trafford, there should be no reason to write off the Red Devils in the Premier League title race this season as far as he is concerned. WESBROWN UNITED EXPECTATIONS NOT MET

 

Manchester United legend Wes Brown had high hopes for the club this season and it is safe to say that the team has not met those lofty expectations. In one of his interviews at the start of this season, Wes Brown told the Manchester United website at the Soccer Aid for Unicefmatch at Old Trafford that he’s optimistic for the new season. The optimism from Wes Brown and other Manchester United fans has been derailed by the average performances churned out by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his players this season especially in the Premier League.


Manchester United were without a win at home for their first four games until they got it right against struggling West Brom at the weekend. The Red Devils struggled to beat the Baggies as they needed a controversial 1-0 win to dismiss the visitors. Portuguese international Bruno Fernandes was responsible for the goal in the second half of the week nine encounter.

Wes Brown Offers Expert Opinion for United

 

Wes Brown might be an ex-star player of Manchester United but he still has considerable interest in what happens in the club. Recently he urged the club authorities to keep their faith in players Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire who play in center back positions. The club is hoping to get a new center-back for the summer. The playing season this year saw Red Devils having an unbeaten streak. This extended across 16 matches in several competitions during the weekend. When Wes was asked whether anybody could be improved upon at center half for United, Brown stated that the two players should be kept, in light of the different games they played and the goals they helped acquire.


Brown himself has been busy engaging in different promotional activities this year. In February he signed up for Bolt, a media platform that is interactive and blockchain-based. The platform announced that Wes Brown, having been an international footballer and a former player of Manchester United, would be having the role of Global Ambassador. Wes has several accolades under his belt, having served as part of the squad at Manchester United who was a treble-winning team. He also offers his expert opinion and insight on Premier League as well as on the Euro tournaments. For the upcoming Euro 2020, he would be part of the expert panel. As the football season gets back on track in August, he would be involving himself in different activities related to the sport.

CRYSTAL PLACE STAR TALKS ABOUT INFLUENCES

 

Premier League defender Patrick van Aanholt has revealed influences in his career whilst he was at
Sunderland. He said he was honoured to feature alongside former Three Lions star Jermain Defoe. Both
stars featured for the Black Cats, helping them avoid relegation twice.


The Dutchman joined Sunderland in 2014 from Chelsea while Defoe joined from Toronto FC in the winter
window of 2015. Van Aanholt help prevent goals while Defoe was scoring the required goals that helped
Sunderland remain in the topflight for longer. Van Aanholt remains in awe of Defoe, describing him as

Eric Bailly has spent all season and even much of last season on the treatment table so uch so that most United supporters now assume he must be on loan somewhere else.

The center back however says he is very much involved with whatever his going on at Old Trafford and would love to win trophies for United whenever he’s being called upon to help.

SUNDERLAND POSTPONES BRISTOL ROVERS FIXTURE

No thanks to the international break, Sunderland is calling off their clash with Bristol Rovers.

The Black Cats may have nine lives but that isn’t enough to go into the clash with Bristol when majority of their line-ups will be absent during the international break.

Nothing tells of how the mighty has fallen than watching Sunderland freak out at the absence of Conor McLaughlin, Jon McLaughlin and Tom Flanagan when it used to be the likes of Wes Brown and John Oshea.

Wes Brown who is the former defender of Black Cats confesses that he still “loves watching” for the score of Sunderland on any day and also disclosed that the fans of the club were one of the main reason and it is only because of them that he joined the club. Manchester United would be looking to bounce back from their defeat against Arsenal on Sunday with a trip to face Wolves at the Molineux. The FA Cup quarter-final clash is expected to be a tough game for the Red Devils as Wolves seem to turn up against the top six this season.
