Wes Brown represented the Three Lions of England 23 times scoring once in the process. He made his debut against Hungary in 1999 and was part of the England squad to the 2002 FIFA World Cup tournament in South Korea and Japan under the guidance of manager Sven Goran Eriksson though he spent the entire tournament on the bench.

Brown was a regular during the 2005/06 season and that prompted his recalled to the England squad ahead of the international friendly clash with South American team Uruguay. He didn’t feature during the game against the Uruguayans and he was subsequently left out of the team to the 2006 FIFA World Cup tournament in Germany.
